NWCCC Matting and Framing Workshop

Saturday, April 29, 2023
Everett Public Library Main Branch

2702 Hoyt Ave
Everett, WA 98201

2pm to 5pm – Sam Ruljancich, Jerry Dunbar, and Henry Heerschap presenting.
This event is limited to members of NWCCC-affiliated camera clubs (see list here)

2 PM to 3:30 PM – Matting demonstration and hands-on practice. After showing the process of mat cutting, Henry and Jerry will have several mat cutters available to cut your own mat. If you want to bring a 5×7 or 8×10 print, we will have mat board available to create a finished piece. If you would like to mat a larger print, we ask that you bring your own mat board. Places to buy mat board include Dick Blick (on Capital Hill in Seattle) University Bookstore, and Hobby Lobby. You may find you have to buy a full 32×40 sheet. We can help you cut it down to smaller sizes.

3:30 PM to 4:30 PM (or when matting presentation ends) – Framing and simple mounting presentation. Sam will be showing his process for inexpensive framing/mounting using standard frames he gets online. He will walk us through taking the print, mounting for NWCCC print competitions or club print meetings. He will also cover simple, less expensive ways of finishing it into a frame for hanging into a gallery or at home.

This is a free event, but registration is required. More information will be sent to registered participants ahead of the workshop.
